Connect Church Newsletter
15 Sep
24church helps support Connect Church in Seattle, WA in a number of ways. We thought it would be good to post the latest newsletter from Connect so you can see what’s going on. If you’re interested in receiving this newsletter via email, send Dale a message and ask to be added to the email list – connectseattle@gmail.com
As many of you know the vision for Connect Church began in the last months of 2006. It is hard to believe it has been almost three years since we first began thinking about the possibility of church planting. The past few years have been a busy time of preparation, moving to Seattle, adjusting to life in the Northwest and gathering a core group. And now we are just a few short weeks away from seeing this vision become a reality. Although we have been working hard to see the vision of Connect come to fruition since 2007 we now prepare to “officially” launch the church later this month.
We are so thankful for all of the prayers and support that so many churches, families, and individuals have shown us throughout this process. However, we are also reminded that this launch will bring with it many new challenges and the need for much more hard work. It is true that we are only just beginning this journey. Please continue to read throughout this newsletter for important updates on the life of Connect and it’s core members.
In Christ,
Dale Braswell
Lead Pastor, Connect Church
Connect Church Launch – September 20 & 27
We are still on track for our official launch on September 20. The big change is that we will add a second launch date on September 27. The reason for this addition is we found a much cheaper option to print an invitational mailer. However, this option will not allow us to send the mailer until after September 20. As a result we are going to have a “soft Launch” on Sunday September 20. On this day we will transition to a Sunday morning worship service at 10:30am. We will invite many of the people we have met in the community to this event. The September 27 launch will then be for the thousands we invite through the mailer we send out the week of September 21.
Following this transition we will begin to offer Connect Groups in October. These groups will provide people with the chance to connect to community by meeting in homes on a weekly basis for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. We then plan to offer multiple service teams by November which will provide attenders with the chance to connect to service. These ministry teams will serve within the church and also partner with local organizations in the community.
We are so thankful that God has provided us with a great foundation on which to begin these Sunday morning services. Over the past several months God has provided the following things which help make our launch possible.
- Fully equipped facilities
- Children’s equipment
- Volunteers to set up and run worship services
- Great volunteer children’s workers
- Worship leader to lead the services
Please be in prayer over the next few weeks as we prepare for September 20 & 27. Pray that God would draw many new visitors to our services. Pray for the overall continued growth and success of Connect.
Connect Church Worship Leader Update
We are very excited to welcome Tara Wright as the new worship leader for Connect. Tara arrived in Lynnwood the first week of September from Houston Texas. Tara has already led our past two Look In services on Sunday night and is doing a great job. Please continue to pray for Tara as she looks for a job and a place to live and continues to settle into the area.
Additional Partners Needed
Recently Dale traveled back to Nashville for a partnership development trip. The purpose of this trip was to communicate the vision of Connect to possible partner churches.
The trip was very successful resulting in new church partners that will aid in the process of planting Connect. However, as we transition to this new level of launching and increasing our outreach into the community we will incur additional financial costs. Therefore, we are praying that the Lord would provide additional church and individual partners to support us during this pivotal time.
Please be in prayer that God will provide the needed support in the upcoming weeks and months. If you or your church would be interested in financially partnering with Connect you can contact Dale at dale@connect-church.com or visit our website at www.connect-church.com and click on the “Giving” tab.
Weekly Video Blog
In order to provide another way in which to update people on the ministry of Connect Dale will be posting a weekly video update on his blog. Each short video will include updates and prayer requests along with occasional personal stories about Connect members. Please be sure to check the blog each week to keep updated with our efforts to plant Connect. You can see the most recent video by clicking on the link, http://www.dalesparadigm.blogspot.com
Night of Prayer
In order for Connect Church to be successfully planted we must seek after God in prayer. Therefore, we encourage all of our supporters across the nation to join with us in prayer once a month. Our next official night of prayer for Connect will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 9:00pm. We ask that you focus your prayers on the following four ares.
1. People – Our core group has built many relationships with people in the community. Pray that these efforts would bear fruit through people coming to faith in Christ and attending our Sunday night meetings. Pray that God would continue to help us build many more relationships through which we can share the gospel.
2. September 20 & 27 Launch – Pray for the preparation prior to the event. Pray that the Lord would bless us with several new visitors and continued momentum into the fall.
3. Additional Partners – As Connect seeks to launch out we will obviously incur new financial needs. Therefore, we are asking God t provide us with new churches and families to partner with Connect in the process of planting. Please pray the Lord would continue to provide for our financial needs especially as those needs increase.
If you cannot pray during this specific time we ask that you take some portion of your day to pray for the previously mentioned needs. We invite you to continue to be in prayer for our church and core families throughout the days and weeks ahead.
